Hyundai Motor`s Equus limousine has been selected as one of the official cars for heads of state to attend the November Group of 20 summit in Seoul.

The summit’s organizing committee said Sunday that it picked the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group and the Korean branches of BMW, Audi and Chrysler to supply some 240 official sedans for the event.

The Equus limousine will be used for heads of state while the BMW 750Li, Audi A8 and Chrysler 300C will transport the leaders` spouses and heads of international organizations.

Domestic and foreign automakers are said to have fiercely competed to supply vehicles to the event.

The Equus limousine is the largest and most expensive passenger vehicle produced in Korea. The vehicle is priced at 135 million won (115,880 U.S. dollars) for the VL380 Prestige model and 146 million won (125,322 dollars) for the larger VL500 Prestige.

Last year, Hyundai Motor donated a bulletproof Equus limousine to the Korean presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae.
