Bleak Landscape

A bleak landscape is seen on the outskirts of the man-made island Palm Jumeirah, in which the real estate developer of the beleaguered Dubai World, Nakheel, planned to build a hotel. The construction site for the luxury resort Kingdom of Sheba is seen in the distance. The resort is due to open this year, but its exterior work is far from complete.
