Democratic Senator Clinton officially announced to end her presidential campaign Saturday and urged voters to support Senator Barack Obama.

Clinton gave up her dream of becoming the first female presidential nominee and the first female president of the United States, which had seemed guaranteed until the end of last year.

Clinton gave her farewell address in front of thousands of her supporters at the National Building Museum in Washington for 28 minutes, saying, "Help elect Barack Obama. I ask all of you to join me in working hard for Barack Obama. I won’t spare support for his election."

Major news outlets including CNN said Clinton has a range of options including being nominated as running mate, running for New York’s governorship, becoming the Senate floor leader or being nominated to the Supreme Court (if Obama is elected).

“I am thrilled and honored to have Clinton’s support,” said Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. “No one knows better than Senator Clinton how desperately America and the American people need change, and I know she will continue to be at the forefront of the battle this fall.”

Obama has not said anything about whether he will nominate Clinton as his running mate so far.
