Pitcher Chan Ho Park of the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday extended his shutout streak to seven innings, raising his chances to return to the starting lineup.

Against the Houston Astros at Dodgers Stadium, Park relieved Chad Billingsley in the sixth inning with Los Angeles trailing 5-0. Park then pitched three shutout innings, allowing just three hits.

The Korean pitcher also pitched three scoreless innings against the New York Mets Thursday. His ERA is 2.16.

Yesterday, Park kept his fastball around 153 kilometers per hour and gave up no walks.

In the sixth, Park forced a groundout and two flyouts and allowed one single in the seventh. In the eighth, he allowed runners on first and second with two outs, but retired the final batter to keep his scoreless inning streak intact.

The Dodgers, however, were listless on offense, registering just three hits in the loss.
