Police investigating the alleged group sexual assaults at an elementary school in Daegu issued arrest warrants for three teens who were involved in a case involving 11 suspected offenders.

Police decided to transfer eight assailants, who are not subject to criminal punishment due to their young age, to the juvenile court in Daegu or to release them into parental custody. All of the student assailants were ordered to undergo psychotherapy and counseling.

The three arrested teens are suspected of luring three elementary girls including B (8) to the playground of the school they attended and sexually assaulted them.

Police said it has secured statements from two of the three girls. But one girl and her parents still deny the claim.

A police source said, “All the assailant students have admitted to the charges. They became acquainted with each other since they lived in the same neighborhood and hung out with one another.”

Regarding allegations that some high school students were involved in the sexual assaults, the police said that its investigation into the case found no evidence to the claim.
