Roger Federer broke his title drought yesterday thanks to an abandoned match.
The world No. 1 won the Estoril Open in Oeiras, Portugal, after world No. 4 Nikolay Davydenko of Russia was forced to retire in the second set with a leg injury.
This was Federers first title in five months since last years Masters Cup in Shanghai and the 54th of his career. He had come up short in the seasons first four tournaments.
"Its the first time in my life I play a final and someone gave up," Federer said.
Federer had a hard time winning the first set, 7-6, and was behind 2-1 in the second when his opponent bowed out.
