First European Commercial Solar Tower

Engineers talk to each other at the Andasol 1 solar power station near Guadix in the province of Granada, Spain, on March 7. The first-ever commercial solar power plant in Europe cost 310 million euros (about 470 billion won). When the construction is finished, the plant is expected to produce 157 million kWh of electricity to fulfill the commitment Spain has assumed in Kyoto Protocol to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
