2008 Beijing Olympics

As of August 8, the 2008 Beijing Olympics are only one year away. Nanjing citizens in Jiangsu Province are flying kites emblazoned with “Fuwa,” the mascot of the Olympics. Fuwa means five personified characters: fish (sea); giant panda (forest); Olympic flame (fire); Tibetan antelope (earth)’ and swallow (heaven). The combination of the five Chinese characters sounds like “Beijing Welcomes You.”
