First Snow in 90 years in Argentina’s Capital

Argentine capital Buenos Aires had snow for the first time in 90 years on July 9. Meteorological authorities said that this was the first incident since June 22, 1918 for the city to have a substantial amount of snow, though there had been some occasional sleet. The snowfall resulted from cold air coming from the South Pole. In May, 23 people died in extreme cold.
