Inter-Korea Trains Cross Border After 56 Years

‘The first train in 56 years to leave Munsan and head for Gaesong’ left on May 17 on the Gyeongui Line with 150 passengers from both Koreas. The train crossed the Demilitarized Zone on a test run for the first time in 55 years and 11 months. The train departed from Dorasan Station in the South (left), passed through the Southern border gate (middle) and arrived at its destination, Gaesong. The right-hand picture shows the train that departed from Geumgang Station in the North and arrived in Jejin Station, Gangwon, in the South.
