The funeral of James Kim, a Korean American who died while searching for help after leaving his family in their car in the mountains of Oregon, U.S, was held on December 9 (December 10 in Korean time) in a family affair.

Local news reported that Kim’s funeral was held in a funeral parlor in Oakland, California, and was attended by his family including his wife, two daughters, parents, as well as Kim’s colleagues and college friends.

The funeral proceeded as a memorial, starting with his father Spencer Kim’s speech and followed by those of his family. Kati Kim, who was rescued after nine days with her two daughters, could not read her memorial through her tears, causing pain for the people attending the funeral.
