Beijing Koreans Prepare for Olympics

On June 17, at Laiguangying soccer stadium in Wangjing, Beijing, the Beijing Olympic Volunteer Group for Koreans in China had a launching ceremony. This group plans to provide support to the Korean athletes, fans, and tourists who will be in Beijing for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The volunteer group will provide interpreters, stadium guides, first aid supplies, recommendations for transportation and accommodations, and other services during the Olympic Games. They will also find people, out of the 100,000 Koreans in Beijing, who will provide free homestays and upload information on the Korean Community China (president: Baek Geum-sik) website.
