Oscar Season

The race for the Oscars is underway. Fifty gold statuettes to be presented March 5 at the 78th Academy Awards are on display at New York’s Times Square Studios. The 24-Karat gold plated trophy, which stands 34cm tall and weighs 3.8kg, is only worth $400 (around 390,000 won), but is the highest honor a movie star can receive. The nominees will be announced on January 31.
