Shenyang Ice Festival

Shenyang International Snow and Ice Festival kicked off on January 10. At the night opening ceremony, many local residents are running on ice, lighting the way with torches. The Chinese government estimates that by 2010, the tourist industry will account for seven percent of its economy, and the number of foreign visitors will amount to 64 million.
