There is a waterfall that does not freeze even when the snow covers the earth and at 40 degrees Celsius below zero; the Yimyeongsu waterfalls at Mt. Baekdu’s Samjiyeon Lake. Designated as a natural treasure of North Korea, it is 15m high and 27m wide. With the black rocks, clear lake, and the surrounding forest, the waterfall presents a spectacular sight. Photographer Lee Jeong-su took this picture when he visited Mt. Baekdu on last Friday.
