More than 61 people were killed in three serial explosions that took place in New Delhi, India on October 29, three days before Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. Authorities suspect the bombings to be the handiwork of an Islamic resistance group that is weary of the current reconciliatory mood between India and Pakistan.

Merchants are looking around the blood-tainted scene in Pahar Ganj Market at the center of New Delhi, where the first explosion took place.
