Korean grapes, produced in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, were exported to the U.S. for the first time. The National Plant Quarantine Service (NPQS) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry revealed yesterday that 165 boxes (330 kg) of “Campbell Early” grapes produced in grapes farms in Hwaseong City were exported to the U.S. from Incheon International Airport by air on August 16. The NPQS began negotiations with U.S. quarantine authorities to export grapes in 1995 and reached an agreement on the exportation of grapes grown in Korea last November.
