Korean Peninsula Gets Drawn with New Version of National Flower

The Rose of Sharon, the Korean Peninsula and Taegeuk-ki (national flag). On August 12, a new map of the Korean Peninsula was drawn with a new breed of Rose of Sharon which Shim Gyeong-gu, a landscape architecture professor, developed in a corner of the botanical garden at the nature and science campus of Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. Students of the landscape architecture department waved national flags to celebrate the 60th anniversary of national independence.
