Directly after the news of Pope John Paul ll’s death late in the night of April 2 at the Saint Peter’s Square in front of the Vatican in Rome, Italy, some 100,000 people filled the spacious square to mourn the Pope’s death, but their hearts were empty from the sad loss of the “Apostle of eternal peace.” People lined up all night to express condolences to the late Pope.
