"If Min Fund Details Concealed, then a State Inspection”

GNP Chairman Choe Byung-ryol said on February 4 regarding the Min fund scandal, “If the president and the prosecution fail to clear away every doubt related to the case, we will initiate a state inspection to uncover the details.”

“How can an investment fund build up to 65.3 billion won in only two months without a certain background’s role when it didn’t even have a contract,” said Choe in his chair speech at a negotiation body.

“He should stop illegal campaign strategies and disassemble his Red Guard organizations,” added Choe regarding Roh’s involvement in the general election. “If this situation continues, we will have to consider all the possible measures, including an impeachment.”

Additionally, he insisted, “We will also have to consider different methods such as a constitutional amendment to the Decentralized Presidential System. Any representative related to corruption should abandon their immunity to arrests as well as limiting the president’s right of amnesty.”

“The Republic of Korea is entering the ‘era of national bankruptcy’ and ‘national despair,’ and a fundamental change is desperately needed,” said Choe. “We will build large-scale industrial complexes with national funding to stimulate investments and increase the number of independent specialty private schools.”

He also asserted, “We return the illicit political funds by selling our Yeouido party building and Cheonan Training Center.”
