Addressing the Pakistan nuclear manufacturing technology leakage into North Korea recently reported by foreign broadcasts, Minister Ban Ki-moon of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT) said, A MOFAT director expressed his concerns to an official at the Pakistan Embassy.
Minister Ban spoke of this matter at the press conference held at the MOFAT headquarters, saying, The government requested definite information from the Pakistan government. When the related matters are confirmed, we will announce the governments position.
Ban added, However, we do not wish to grasp more than what was recently reported of this matter.
Relating to the six-party talks, Minister Ban said, From this meeting, we can anticipate in internationally proclaiming to thoroughly inspect North Koreas nuclear activity and plans to develop nuclear weapons, and to abandon development in a way that it may never be restored. If North Korea is truly prepared to give up its nuclear plans, nuclear development plans for plutonium and high enriched uranium (HEU) must be abolished.
