Japanese Self-Defense Force Heads for Iraq

The selected armies from the main body of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Forces are holding a farewell ceremony on February 2. The head troops are composed of 80 facility building unit soldiers and are heading first to Kuwait for adaptation training on February 3 via a government’s jet and then on to Samawa, a southern city in Iraq. They will commence building military quarters for their main body once they arrive in Iraq.
