The Nigerian vice presidents office disclosed on January 28 that the North Korean delegation, which is officially traveling in the African continent, has suggested to export its cutting-edge missile technology to Nigeria, and the two countries have consented to a mutual agreement including the missile technology.
According to this, We hope that North Korea will cease its missile export, remarked the spokesman of the U.S. State Department, adding, The transfer of military facilities is the problem about which the United States is earnestly anxious. It seems that this problem will stir another conflict in the international society.
On January 27, the North Korean delegation led by Yang Hyung-seop, the deputy chief of peoples supreme council, met with Atiku Abuvakar, the vice president of Nigeria, and suggested exporting the missile related technologies. The two countries will reach an agreement soon, revealed the vice presidents office of Nigeria.
If Nigeria accepts the technologies from North Korea, it will be the sixth country after Libya, Egypt, Pakistan, and Syria. It will be the first time that the southern Sahara Desert country introduces the technologies from North Korea.
As for the agreement between the two countries, we have exchanged only a mere note of mutual agreement. The concrete process of signing has not commenced, the Nigerian government pointed out, adding, We will not allow the influx of nuclear technology or WMD. The United States assumes that North Korea, which is suffering from a money shortage, earned $560 million in 2001 by exporting weapons.
