`Meet leading chief executive officers online and listen to their secrets of success.’ LG Group’s very special online lecture is enjoying great popularity among employees. The title of the lecture is ‘What Do CEOs Want From You?’

˝The new lecture, dealing with true stories instead of textbook-based business theories, has so far lured more than 3,000 employees in the past three weeks,” said the company.

Those who enroll in the five-day course have to take a one-hour class for five days to learn about qualifications to be a successful leader. The course is divided into five subjects - basic principles of business, the core of business, a broader organization-wide perspective, and when to start.

The course will be led by eight lecturers: Chairman of LG Petroleum and Chemical Sung Jae-gap, Vice Chairman of LG Academy Lee Moon-ho, Vice Chairman of LG Corporation Gang Yoo-shik, Vice Chairman of LG Electronics Kim Ssang-soo, CEO of LG CNS Jung Byung-chul, CEO of LG Philips LCD Gu Bon-joon, CEO of LG Electronics Woo Nam-gyun and CEO of LG Cable Kim Jung-man.

The lecturers will talk about different key capabilities required to be a successful leader.

Chairman Sung stresses that a `devoted attitude towards your job and not driven by self interest,` and Vice Chairman Lee says that `support for and interest in associates,’ is most important. Vice Chairman Gang sees `commitment to his or her own role` as important, while Vice Chairman Kim points to `fun and a sense of fulfillment as a major part of a successful work life.`

When it comes to conditions of being a successful leader, Sung puts focus on `insight that reads into the changes of the times,` while Lee and Gang emphasize `trust` and a `pioneering spirit`. CEO Woo and CEO Kim point to `Devotion` and `Self Development’ as key aspects for success.

Meanwhile, LG Academy plans to open the course to those outside the company next month, given the immense popularity of the program. Employees of other companies can enroll in the course via the `LG Cyber Academy` website (www.cyber.lg.co.kr)
