The former Secretary of North Korea`s Labor Party Hwang Jang-yup is reported to have sent major American politicians letters that express his hope to visit the U.S. A 24-hour news channel YTN reported on May 5th that Hwang asked for his visit to the U.S. in his letter sent to four senators and house representative members including the U.S. House Representative International Relation Commission Chairman Henry Hide and its member Christopher Cox on January 5th, saying “I would like to share various views with you on the nuclear issue.”

Hwang also sent similar letters to the Secretary of State Collin Powel and the Senate Foreign Affair Commission Chairman Richard Lugar. Before that, the U.S human rights group Defense Forum expressed its will to invite Hwang in its visit to Seoul last month and Hwang responded positively to that.
