“No flight on September 11”

With the first anniversary of 9·11 terror just before on, a flight reservation to US dropped sharply on September 10.

According to domestic and foreign airlines such as Korean Air and Northwest airlines, the flight reservation to US dropped by 10∼50% over last year and general days on September 11 when is the first anniversary of 9·11 terror.

However, the reservation after September 11 returns to normal with approx. 70%.

In Korean Air, the reservation for New York has dropped to 60% decreased by 30% over last November(90%). Especially, US airlines have sharply decreased reservation.

In September, Northwest Airlines shows a boarding rate of 80∼90% owing to increasing students passengers to US.. However, the reservation rate of September 11 is just 40%. The reservation of United Airlines drops to 48%.

Officials of Airlines said “Passengers seem to avoid that day if possible”.

Besides, the flight reservation in US drops sharply over the same period of an average year on September 11. According to a newspaper, some airlines including SouthWest and American Airlines will cancel partial domestic flights or will provide the flight service with other airlines.
