Rotem-Hanwha’s Successful Bid for Rail Vehicles of 200 Million Dollars

Consortium of Hanwha and Rotem, manufacturers of rail vehicle, announce that the consortium contracted to supply Athens Subway Corporation of Greece 126 units of rail vehicles of 200Euro (195 million dollars).

The vehicles will be supplied at the time of Athens Olympic in 2004 and operated for lane 2 and 3.

Rotem will be responsible for from design to delivery, and Hanwha for the local supporting and exporting. Rotem-Hanwha will deliver the rail vehicles for the period from November of 2003 to 2004.

In this tender, French Alstom, German Siemens consortium, Spanish companies and other European companies participate in and competed severely.

Rotem-Hanwha has already succeeded to supply Istanbul of Turkey rail vehicles of 230 million dollars in the last December, and took this opportunity to extend European market.

In the contract ceremony at 5th,Chung Han-jin the president of Rotem, Kim Jee-hwan the president of Hanwha, Han Tae-kyu Korean Ambassador to Greece, the president of Athens Subway Corporation, and other attended.
