The U.S. on-line newspaper Houston.com reported on the 15th that some grocery stores in College Station, Texas are using fingerprints for payment using a fingerprint reading system.
U.S. grocery chain Kroger has operated this paying system as a model at 3 supermarkets in College Station starting 3 months before.
Customers can use this paying system after registering fingerprints along with their driver’s license and credit card. When fingerprints are registered, a touch of a finger on the fingerprint reader substitutes for the process of payment.
Customers, at first, hated this fingerprint payment system, worrying about the leakage of private life. But the convenience of the system gets more and more registers.
Meanwhile, Kroger, which had introduced the system, announced that it provided the benefits of saving time and preventing worries over forged checks.
