Park Geun-Hye, vice president of the Grand National Party, announced that she will run for the party`s Presidential candidacy for the next year`s Presidential election. At the year-end meeting with journalists, vice president Park said, "the priority for the development of the country lies in the change of political authorities. And I decided to run for the competition to respond to the public`s desire for political reformation."
Vice president Park said, "current one-boss-system should be dispelled, and transparent budget policy and nomination procedures for lawmakers are needed. Next year Presidential election will be lead not by the Lee Hoi-Chang prevalence, but by the GNP prevalence based on the anti- DJ sentiment."
After the meeting, Park added through the phone conversation, "Unless GNP change, people would not support it in the Presidential election. There are many supporters who share sympathy with my demand for the democratization of the party."
