The leaders of the New Millennium Democratic Party revealed their plan to establish a `special organization for reformation of the party and the government` to resolve the conflicts concerning the measures to recover the national sentiment. However, young lawmakers and the potential Presidential candidates criticized the party`s leaders for delaying tactics and requested immediate reformation of the party and the government.

Establishment of Special Organization and Plan For Reformation: Spokesperson Chun Yong-Hak said that the four leaders of the party including chairperson Han Kwang-Ok agreed on the necessity for the special organization to discuss the reformation measures of the party and the political schedule such as the election of the Presidential candidate.

Spokesperson Chun hinted that there would be no immediate reformation of the party and the government, saying ``Possible measures will be discussed in the special organization right after the end of general session of the National Assembly and the chairperson will seriously respond to the requests for the reformation.``

NMDP will make a final decision for the special organization at the Supreme Council today and the executive committee of the party tomorrow.

However, young lawmakers of the party who have joined in `Open Politics Forum` `Institute For Practice of Righteous Politics,` and `Daybreak 21,` are considering cooperation for the request of immediate reformation of the party, critically ``discussing the reformation measure in the special committee and the implementation of the measures after the general session of the National Assembly is only a delaying tactic to cover up the situation.``

Controversies About the Targets of Reformation: The largest sect of the party, Middle Reformist Forum, raised issues about the people who had been related to the series of scandals and Reps. Han Hwa-Gap and Kim Keun-Tae also presented a sort of criteria for the reformation of human resources.

Supreme Council member Han urged in an interview at a weekly journal, ``those who supported the President close at hand, or those who had been in charge of the party have to confess,It`s my responsibility.`` However, he added that the right time would be after the end of the general session of the National Assembly.

Supreme Council member Kim reiterated the urgent reformation of the party`s leader, power group in Cheong Wa Dae, and the economic team in the administration, urging ``the estrangement of the people`s sentiment is very serious. The party and the government should go through an overall transformation with except to a limited operative sections.``

However, Rep. Lee Hoon-Pyong of Donggyo-dong group refuted, ``the objects and the reasons of the reformation must be clarified before asserting ambiguous requests for reformation.``
