The second person of the Al Qaida led by Osama bin Laden, who is pointed as the wire-puller of the simultaneous terrorist attack on the U.S., was revealed as Al Jawahiri (50, photo), former medical doctor from Egypt.
BBC reported yesterday that, according to the Israeli Intelligence Agencies, Mr. Jawahiri is the second leader of Al Qaida and directed the terrorist operation against the U.S. on Sep. 11.
Jawahiri took part in the establishment of the organizational ideology and the fund management after the spiritual mentor of bin Laden, Abdullah Ajam was killed by the explosion of his car in Peshawar, Pakistan, 1997.
He is also known for promoting the united front of Al Qaida and the armed Muslim Jihad primarily composed of the Egyptians.
Some experts indicate Jawahiri as the successor of bin Laden.
A U.S. author who is writing a book about the bombing against the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in Africa, said ``when bin Laden retires from his terrorist activities as he promised to the Taliban government, Jawahiri will follow after him.``
Jawahiri was a son of a medical doctor in Cairo, Egypt, 1951, and joined an extremist organization, the Muslim Brothers. After he graduated from the medical school and earned his Masters degree as Physician, he became a terrorist. He was involved in the assassination of Anwar Sadat, the Egyptian President, 1981, and directed the bomb terror in a tourist resort in Egypt, 1997, killed dozens of foreign tourists.
Related experts say that ``almost every terrorist activities by the Islam extremist organization since 1970 is related to Jawahiri.``
