Adm. Dennis Blair, commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, said Wednesday that North Korea is building up its military forces and possesses 600 Scud missiles. In testimony before the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriation, Blair said North Korean missiles target South Korea, part of Japan and U.S. forces stationed in the Asia-Pacific region, according to Kyodo News Agency of Japan.

The number of North Korean Scuds Blair revealed is 100 more than the 500 that the U.S. Department of Defense had figured out. Blair also said that North Korea recently resumed production of tanks for the first time in 10 years.

Meanwhile, Gen. Tommy Franks, commander-in-chief of the U.S. Central Command, said that the U.S. would be able to win even if wars broke out simultaneously in two different regions, including the Korean peninsula.

Testifying before the Arms Committee of the U.S. Lower House of Representatives, Gen. Franks, asked about his judgment of the situation in case a war breaks out on the Korean peninsula after the U.S. mobile fleet moved to the Adriatic Sea from the Pacific, said that the U.S. would face much bigger danger, but the U.S. forces would win.
