``A rolling stone gathers no moss.``
Kang Cho-Hyun, 19, Sydney Olympics` silver medalist in the women`s air rifle event, said she is giving up plans to enter university and will devote herself entirely to sports.
Kang, who earned the nation its first medal in the world sporting extravaganza last year, graduated from Yusong Girls High School in Taejon early this month and was admitted to the Physical Education Department of Chungnam National University as a student with a special skill. However, Kang submitted a letter to the university Monday explaining her decision to forgo entering the school.
``Because I faced many difficulties in my efforts to study and continue the sport simultaneously, I reached the conclusion that I had to choose shooting,``she said in the letter.
Kang drew admiration from Koreans after winning the silver medal by saying with a big grin, ``I am even happier because I still have the goal of winning the gold.``
