The Korean national soccer team, led by new head coach Guus Hiddink from the Netherlands, scored its first wins in a penalty shootout with Paraguay Saturday. Paraguay is 10th in the FIFA rankings.

In the consolation match of the four-nation Carlsberg Cup tournament at Hong Kong Stadium, Korea edged Paraguay 6-5 in the shootout after a 1-1 draw. With the win, Korea finished third in the tournament.

Korean goalkeeper Kim Yong-Dae made a brilliant save on a shot by Paraguay`s sixth kicker in the shootout and Korea`s Lee Min-Sung had no difficulty beating the Paraguayan goalie for the 6-5 victory.
