Internet surfing has become a part of daily activity for many people. There are two opposing views to the assertion that the longer people surf the Web, the lesser their social interaction tends to be.

From Nov. 23 to Nov. 30, a question was asked of donga.com visitors concerning the effect of the Internet on quality family time, including communication. Of the 9,464 respondents, 46.9 percent admitted "communication with the family has been reduced," 47.7 percent admitted "it isn't like the way it used to be," and only 15.4 percent said "family communication increased."
