donga.com named top domestic news site

Dong-a Ilbo`s Internet news site, www.donga.com, has been found to be the most popular web news site in Korea.

An Internet survey site, www.clubrich.com, made a study of some 280 newspaper, magazine and publishing sites from Nov. 17-23 and released the results Friday.

The survey method incorporated a hit number index (40%), an appraisal system using a point system from 1 to 10 (25%) and an expert survey (35%). There was a 2% margin of error.

In the publishing/newspaper/magazine segment of the survey of 42 areas, donga.com overtook the Chosun Ilbo`s site, which had held on to the number 1 spot. donga.com was found to have a considerable lead in terms of hits. Based on a netizen hit index of 100 for donga.com, Chosun Ilbo registered 85.3, while JoongAng Ilbo, at number 5, reached 68.8.

Besides news-related sites, Kyobo Book Center was included in the top ten.
