Korean women who were coerced into serving as comfort women for the Japanese military during the second world war filed a class action suit against the Japanese government for damages in the US and rallied in front of the Japanese embassy in Washington on Monday. The 15 surviving former comfort women from Korea, China, Taiwan, and the Philippine filed a class action suit with the Washington district court. This is the first time that the surviving comfort women have filed a lawsuit in the U.S.
