Korea IMT-2000 consortium revealed on the 16th that in order to gain an upper hand in the bid for the IMT-2000 business, it has joined hands with many medium sized companies and venture firms.

Korea IMT-2000 consortium, which is led by Hanaro Telecom and Onse Telecom, has already lured the largest info/telecom enterprise group PICCA and the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business.

In addition, a goal was set to develop the consortium into a `non-chaebol public company` and PICCA chairman, Kim Sung Hyun, is to become the head of the committee to expand the consortium. The consortium`s decision to strengthen its shareholding structure was made to maximize the influence of the contents business side to meet government requirement in the licensing evaluation process.
