Kang Jung-ho makes two-day consecutive homers

Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Kang Jung-ho blasted home runs for two consecutive days on Saturday local time.

At a match held at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kang came out as the fifth batter and third baseman and hit the first ball of Jhoulys Chacín, a starting pitcher of the Los Angeles Angels, on second base at the bottom of second inning which flew over the left fence. This was his 8th homer in this season that turned around 0-1 game to 2-1 for his team.

On the previous day, Kang made a solo hit at his first at bat. This was his first in season to make a two-day consecutive homeruns. Having failed to add another hit on the day, the King Kang gained four walks and hit by a pitch, contributing his team’s 8-7 victory.

Lee Dae-ho of the Seattle Mariners started the game against Texas as the fifth batter and the first baseman and recorded two hits in four, making his multi-hit games (in which more than two hits are made in a single game) to five. Kim Hyun-soo (aged 28, Baltimore Orioles) at the game against New York Yankees hit a double, succeeding to go to base for 11 consecutive games. Park Byung-ho (aged30, Minnesota Twins) had no hits in four.

Oh Seung-hwan (aged 34, St. Louis Cardinals) defended the lineup of San Francisco without losing a point during the first inning, bringing down the ERA to 1.82.
