Donald Trump has officially clinched the Republican presidential nomination Thursday local time, starting his official presidential campaign.

At a news conference in Bismarck, North Dakota, Trump said that if the world leaders are “rattled” by him, “that’s a good thing.” The remark was in response to U.S. President Barack Obama’s comment to journalists during the G7 summit in Japan that foreign leaders were “rattled” by Trump.

“The countries in our world, our beautiful world, have been absolutely abusing us and taking advantage of us,” Trump said. “So if they're rattled in a friendly way, we’re gonna have great relationships with these countries. But if they're rattled in a friendly way, that’s a good thing.”

Trump revealed his perception that rattles created by his “America first” diplomatic line of overhauling international trade agreements and raising defense cost sharing for U.S. forces will help him increase his political weight in the presidential election. Claiming that Obama did not know business, Trump said that Obama “is a man who shouldn’t be really airing his difficulties and he shouldn’t be airing what he’s airing where he is right now.” Trump added that the incumbent U.S. president “has not done a good job.”

The New York Times reported that a “Washington outsider” has clinched the Republican presidential nomination, Trump will push his brand harder during his campaign. In a survey of 1,000 people by the Wall Street Journal and NBC last week, Trump was ahead of his rival Hillary Clinton in terms of reform-mindedness. Asked about who they thought would bring changes to Washington, 55 percent cited Trump, while just 22 percent said Clinton.
