Document on military operation during Gwangju uprising revealed

Jeong Soo-mahn, former head of the 5•18 Bereaved Family Association, a group of bereaved families of those killed by the military during the May 18 Gwangju Democratic Uprising in 1980, on Wednesday disclosed the military’s operation diary of that time. Under the title “Request for Safe Escort of Members of Pacification Team,” the document contains a request that troops in Gwangju take measures to safely transport the pacification team members who arrived in Jeonju at 1:00 p.m. to the regional martial law headquarters.
