Season`s first snow

The first snow of the season arrives Tuesday on Mount Seorak`s peaks of Daecheong and Jungcheong. The first snow in the Daecheong area came 10 days earlier than last year. According to the (South) Korea Meteorological Administration, it began snowing at 9:05 a.m. around the Jungcheong shelter and lasted through 2 p.m., with a depth of 1.5 centimeters. The lowest temperature in the area was minus 4.4 degrees Celsius and it was minus 3 degrees when it was snowing. Snow also fluttered in mountainous areas in the Yeongdong region, which spans eastern Gangwon Province of South Korea and eastern Gangwon Province of North Korea.
