Retiring center announces donation

Veteran basketball center Seo Jang-hoon of the Korean Basketball League team Busan KT Sonicboom seems relaxed Thursday while posing for a photograph with a basketball at the KT Olleh Victorium Gymnasium in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. Having announced that he will retire after the 2012-13 season that begins Oct. 13, he said he will devote his last year as a basketball player to society by donating 200 million won (180,000 U.S. dollars) to his alma mater Yonsei University in Seoul. Half of the donation amount will come from his salary and the rest from his own pocket.
