Russia to Send Experts to Verify Cheonan Probe Results

Russia, a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, will dispatch experts to South Korea to verify the results of the investigation into the Cheonan sinking.

The Kremlin said in a statement Wednesday, “At the request of the (South) Korean government, President Dmitry Medvedev decided to send a group of Russian experts to carefully look at the investigation results of the Cheonan and collected evidence.”

The statement did not say when the team will be sent.
