New Body to Supervise Internet Media

The Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry announced yesterday that it will seek to form a permanent department of arbitration in the Press Arbitration Commission to prevent damage from Internet media.

In a news briefing, Vice Culture Minister Shin Jae-min said, “There is an urgent need to handle damage caused by Internet media. Therefore, we’ll consider establishing a permanent department of arbitration when revising media law. The department will not specialize in work related to Internet media but will mainly handle Internet-related issues.”
