Korea, Uruguay to Expand Trade, Energy Ties

President Lee Myung-bak and Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez agreed yesterday to strengthen practical cooperation in trade and energy.

The presidential office in Seoul said Lee expressed his wish to further enhance practical bilateral cooperation on the occasion of Vazquez`s visit, and asked for favorable treatment for Korean firms in the Uruguayan market.

In response, Vazquez said he hopes more Korean companies will invest in his country, and also proposed treaties on investment and eliminating dual taxation.
