Frm. Lawmaker Lee Boo-young Released on Probation

Former lawmaker Lee Boo-young, who was convicted of taking a bribe in return for giving favors to the JU Group, a multilevel marketing company, was released after being given a suspended sentence in a hearing of intermediate appeal. The former chairman of the Uri Party was suspected to receive 210.7 million won from the group, and sentenced to two years in prison in the first trial.

Seoul High Court sentenced him in the court of intermediate appeal on Wednesday to eight months in prison, two years probation and ordered that he pay 210.7 million won in fines.
