A satellite photo shows a mud volcano in Sidoarjo in East Java. The mud, which has been erupting for the past two years, has devastated 12 villages, killing 13 people and displacing 36,000 others. Though scientists say the gas drilling caused the eruption of the volcano, Indonesia’s parliament and courts defined it as a natural disaster, provoking the ire of the residents in the area. As it shows signs of "catastrophic collapse,” it will continue to wreck havoc on neighboring regions.
