The KTF Magic Wings broke its four-game losing streak by beating the league-leading Dongbu Promy.
Taking on the Promy at home yesterday in Busan, Magic Wings players bombed out the opponents with three-pointers, winning the game 93-83.
Breaking the losing streak, the Magic Wings, now ranked 8th with 15 victories and 23 defeats, seems to have itself geared up for advance.
On the contrary, Dongbu has lost two KTF games in a row. Previously on Jan. 1, it lost to KTF 54-84. Three-pointers called the shots in the yesterdays game.
Dongbu led the earlier quarters 17-21 on its successful two-point shots and 25 rebounds. KTF, for the same period, recorded 22 rebounds only, failing to block the twin towers of Kim Joo-seong and Reggie Okosa.
KTF, however, began to turn the game around on 21 successful three-pointers. Its opponent recorded only six of them. Karl Mitchell contributed five three-pointers, Shin Ki-seong four and Cho Dong-hyeon two.
Leading the game by 12 points, KTFs players such as Mitchell and Jamie Kendrick maintained the initiative by slamming dunks into the basket.
Short of three-pointers, the Dongbu Promy watched its player Kim Joo-seong removed from the court on five fouls.
The Samsung Thunders won its Daegu away game against the hosting Daegu Orions on outperforming excellence of foreign players.
Maintaining its second place in the league, the Thunders won all of the four games against the Orions, pushing the Orions into the losing streak again.
The whole game was neck and neck until Samsung pulled out the initiative in the 3rd quarter.
Samsung players made only one successful three-pointer while its opponent players made three in the first half. However, beginning with the 3rd quarter, Samsung started making series of successful three-pointers and led the game. Opening the 4th quarter with a 10-point lead, Samsung kept widening the gap. When it was two minutes away to the end, the scores were 81-63 for Samsung.
