Samsung Electronics Raises One Million Dollars in New York

Posted June. 20, 2007 04:01,

Celebrities came one after another to Wall Street in New York on the evening of June 18. Former Mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani, New York Yankees Manager Joe Torre, world-renowned golf player Arnold Palmer, NFL star Dan Marino, and ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky were just some of them. What brought them together was the “Samsung Four Seasons of Hope” charity fund-raising event.

Giuliani said, “I’m here to do ‘what the God told us to do.’ I feel very grateful for Samsung.” The former mayor runs his charity foundation, which supports St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York.

Samsung Electronics raised about $1 million that day and gave it away to various charity foundations run by celebrities, including Giuliani’s.

Jointly holding the “Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope” event with U.S. retailers, including Best Buy, to help poor teenagers and families in the U.S., Samsung Electronics has raised about $10 million in charity funding for the past 6 years.
